NOTE: Me, I would have been at a loss to explain why the short "Trial of the Century" arc that spans the missing issues 38 thru 40 is, well, missing...
... but serendipitously, sly http://thepiratebay.ee/user/STFmaryville had some superbly-sensible-sounding shrewd speculations to offer when these were originally released:
"[I]'m pretty certain that Zone's set is meant to be the bendis & maleev run -- issues 38-40 had fill-in artists and 51-55 had a fill-in writer-artist. it may or may not be coincidental that Comixology does NOT have 38-40 available to download. but 51-55 are available."
